Carisa Kelso, MA, APCC #9684

Hello! I am Carisa Kelso, a therapist in the San Clemente area that enjoys working with clients in person and through telehealth. When I’m not working you can find me down on the beach trail with my daughter for a walk, being outdoors with my family, relaxing on my front porch with my husband, or catching up with a friend over coffee at one of the many great coffee shops in the area.

I have always enjoyed supporting others, and through life experiences I found therapy to be helpful in overcoming my own anxiety symptoms and gaining insight and understanding of myself. This gave me the ability to move forward in life and pursue the life I truly desired, which created motivation in me to pursue becoming a therapist myself.

I attended Azusa Pacific University for my bachelor's degree in psychology, completing this in 2012. I later returned to school to complete my master's degree in counseling at Grand Canyon University in 2021.

I specialize in working with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma utilizing EMDR, adjusting to new seasons of life, and mom’s embracing motherhood. I also specialize in working with couples preparing for marriage and adjusting to married life.

My goal for my clients is for them to gain insight into how their past experiences impacted them so they can better understand their current relationships, difficulties and thought patterns that hold them back. I hope for my clients to find freedom in new perspectives and understanding of self, as well as learning to utilize effective coping skills, so they can make the changes necessary to live the life they truly desire to live.

Carisa is supervised by Lyssa Kerrigan LPCC #4626.
