Bonnie Echols, M.A., APCC

Hi, I am Bonnie Echols, an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor residing in Orange County. Alongside my work with clients, I am often enjoying my creative outlet of photography, traveling to new places with my husband, and searching for the perfect cup of coffee at the many local shops in OC.

The start of my story in becoming a therapist began at Montreat College in Asheville, North Carolina where I obtained my BA in Psychology & Human Services. Not long after, I pursued my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University in efforts to hone in on my passion for understanding individuals/family systems in depth. This passion has only continued to grow throughout my career, as I am a life long learner and continue to deepen my own understanding through experience, latest research, and using evidence based-modalities.

The majority of my experiences have led me to work alongside children, teenagers and young adults who have faced difficulties with anxiety, self-esteem, relational conflict, depression, perfectionism, adjustment and oppositional concerns in a variety of settings. One of my specialities is working with teens and young adults that are experiencing the challenges of life transitions into adulthood. In addition to this, I have extensive background in providing direct patient care serving those with treatment-resistant depression in outpatient clinics. Those opportunities gave me great insight and a new passion for understanding the complexity of depression and the brain.

My approach to therapy is characterized by deep curiosity, empathy, compassion and partnership through a client-centered lens to ensure what we work on is what is most important to you. I look forward to connecting with you where you are at to best understand how to support you in the way you need.
