Amanda Hoffman, MA, APCC

My name is Amanda, and I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. My

approach to therapy is rooted in a deep desire to connect with others as I help them

along their healing journey. I believe that through collaboration, empathy, and

compassion I can empower my clients to achieve their therapeutic goals and become

the best version of themselves.

I was born and raised in North San Diego County, where I currently live with my

husband and two adorable children. When I’m not working with clients, you’ll find me

walking along the beach with a friend, reading a good book, or camping with my family. I

absolutely love to travel and immerse myself in new people, places, and cultures.

I obtained my bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego with a

major in Communications, and an MS in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist

University. After working as an administrative assistant for many years, I was inspired to

pursue a career as a therapist after my own transformative experience with therapy. I

absolutely love working in a field where I get to deeply connect with others and provide

them with the support they need to thrive.

My therapeutic approach is collaborative and client-centered as I work to understand

your goals, challenges, and strengths. In my work with adults and couples, I utilize a

combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Rogerian Therapy

to help with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, emotional regulation, life

transitions, and difficult relational dynamics. I have also received specialized training in

grief and loss, and also use EMDR to help clients recover from trauma.

Amanda is supervised by Lyssa Kerrigan LPCC #4626.
